- Various issues have led to me to try other browsers. I used Microsoft Edge, but I really dislike how it inherits Chromium’s 90-day history retention.
- Firefox is Firefox. It’s good until there’s that one page that wasn’t tested with it. WebGL performance is only decent. Either way, I’m specifically using Firefox Developer Edition. And while setting it up for beyond testing web pages:
- Rayleigh Moderation is broken in various ways. Probably just the fault of mine. But I’m not in the mood to touch some frontend code.
- Tried out Vivaldi. Somehow, Rayleigh Moderation is broken once again. This time, it was about ‘access keys.’. They just… didn’t work?
- Even Chromium itself is rotten in some way. Actually, I think it æffects all Chromium-based browsers in some way? There’s this particular issue that randomly locks up inputs for a tab. That happening for Microsoft Edge motivated me to look at other browsers. And the specific Chromium build I used didn’t play video on Rayleigh Moderation.
- For Rayleigh Moderation, I ended up dedicating Google Chrome for it.
Vivaldi seems really nice, but syncing doesn’t actually carry over the visited link colors. Firefox does, so I’m going to try using that for the next months. There’s some benefits already:
- uBlock Origin will be working fine and well for the foreseeable future.
