Took down the old, empty ATProto personal data server. It took that long, but it was a simple systemctl disable pds.service --user and systemctl stop pds.service --user.
There is something beautiful about open source projects. I’ve curated BeepBox to the Flashpoint Archive. Curations are primarily meant to be playable, no matter what. But since it’s an open source project, there is bound to be plenty of ‘stuff’ to put into a curation.
Usually, I’d just clone a project’s Git repository with git clone https://github.com/johnnesky/beepbox.git --mirror, maybe repack it and stuff that in the curation as ‘bonus content.’. But software is beyond Git histories. That existence usually has a purpose. Just reading on BeepBox‘s releases on GitHub when there’s this first v0.1 release; that it made me realize: why. BeepBox is already self-preserved, even to its compiled builds and community creations. But I don’t think I would‘ve cared about pre-release .swf files, had I not been interested in the Flashpoint Archive. People should care, and now it’ll be a click away with little to no setup.
It was Bloxelday. Nothing strange happened, weirdly enough. Other than Bouyer giving a speech about its community.
And it’s weird! I have something similar to say about a fetish game that I have zero interest with. Community is always strong, no matter what it is.
